![]() But, we'll see how it goes once I get the cable/adapter. I will say, as some of you are probably doing, that this is a lot of trouble when I could use either Gaia on my phone or just take my laptop and use Basecamp. Otherwise I'll just have to get a USB-C to micro adapter and then use one of my Garmin cables. If I'm lucky, and I probably won't be, I can find a USB-C to mini cable. So now the next step is to order a cable to connect my tablet to my GPS. I disconnected the GPS, restarted it and bingo it showed up under Tracks. ![]() Next I connected the gps to my computer, opened the GPX folder on the GPS internal drive and copied the test track into it. I then tried to use the Garmin Smart Smartphone app to send the file to my GPS (like you can do with Basecamp), it didn't work. I imported the saved route to Mappite, then exported it to my desktop as a track. Once I created the route, I saved it as a route (I can't find a way to save as a track in Gaia), closed Gaia and opened Mappite. I should have said initially that my interest here is in the use of topo maps for forest service roads and what not. For a test, I created a route in Gaia since I bought it and do like the the fact that it works well on my tablet off line with downloaded topo maps. Here's where I'm at, and thanks for all the info. I can use the same cable to transfer files or charge my Sena, or use the same adapter to connect either GPS. Using a separate cable (which I already have) does provide more options. What I have not seen is a single cable that would provide a direct OTG connection from phone to GPS. Most are made in China and the brand names seem to change frequently. I don't think there is much difference in brands. Once you start searching for an OTG adapter or cable, you will find a lot of styles and even hubs. To complete the connection to the GPS, both adapters also need a regular USB data cable, male USB A to male micro USB for the Zumo 590, male USB A to male mini USB for the XT. My S10 did not come with a USB C OTG adapter, so I bought an OTG adapter with a short cord similar to this, which does not interfere with the case: I don't much like this one, as the wide body requires removing the case from my phone.
